An interesting question!
However, as of February 2025, Microsoft has not officially announced Windows 12, and specific system requirements remain unconfirmed. In other words, W12 may or may not be released later this year.
Please note that based on industry speculation and leaks, Windows 12 is expected to have higher hardware requirements than Windows 11.
Anticipated Windows 12 System Requirements:
- RAM: Minimum of 8 GB; some sources suggest 16 GB may be required.
- Storage: At least 64 GB, with a shift towards SSDs becoming mandatory.
- Processor: 64-bit CPU with a clock speed of 1 GHz or faster, possibly requiring newer generations.
- Graphics: DirectX 12 compatible graphics / WDDM 2.x.
- Security: TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot support.
Your HP Laptop 15s-eq0110au Specifications:
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3500U which is W11 supported: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/design/minimum/supported/windows-11-supported-amd....
- Memory: 8 GB DDR4-SDRAM.
- Storage: 256 GB SSD.
- Graphics: AMD Radeon Vega 8.
Given these specs, your laptop meets or exceeds the anticipated minimum requirements in most areas. However, if Windows 12 requires 16 GB of RAM, you would need to upgrade your memory. The HP 15s-eq0110au supports up to 32 GB of RAM, so upgrading is feasible.
Please note that these requirements are based on unconfirmed reports, and actual specifications may vary upon official release. It's advisable to wait for Microsoft's official announcement to make an informed decision regarding compatibility and necessary upgrades.
