Hello,

My laptop has had problems installing the 1803 windows updates for awhile. After it tries to restart and load the updates it eventually shuts off and gets stuck constantly restarting itself over and over again when I turn it on. I have done system recovery and been able to use my laptop by going back into windows 10 using the "Use other operating system" selection, but this has been the only way to get my laptop to work. I tried different suggestions such as troubleshooting my computer, and windows operating system, but it shows my computer is in good health and that is all.  Thanks for any help.

To confirm what version you are running, enter winver in the search area and report back what it says.

HOW are you trying to do the 1809 Update -- through Windows Update?

I'm sorry it's actually 1803. It says the following: Version 1803 (OS Build 17134.1345) Thanks for your quick response and appreciate the help.

It says I'm up to date now but it still says **bleep** is out of service. I have attached a screenshot below. The restart issues keeps happening and it started when I was updating last month.

Yeah -- that's correct about v1803 -- as MS is now supporting Win10 versions for only about 2 years.

IF you want to update your PC now, you need to read the following:

1) Use this link to download and create Win10 install media: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

2) insert that into your PC (do NOT boot from it), find the folder containing the media, select the setup.exe file, right-click that and select Run as Administrator.  This will start an in-place Upgrade which could then take a couple of hours to complete.

If you are presented with a window asking for a product key, down near the bottom is a entry you can click to skip that. Do NOT enter a product key, as it will reuse your existing key and when you finish and get back online, Windows will automatically reactivate.
