I've been having issues day one with this laptop.
Bought it blindly with zero research. Made a few assumptions, and upon taking it home I discovered every single one of my assumptions were wrong.
Who in the year of 2019 at the time of purchase thought it would be a swell idea to produce, sell, and market a 64bit OS with 4gb of RAM and a single memory bank is far and beyond me.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate in an attempt to alleviate the stress of Windows 10 being an all-consuming monster so I could actually use the laptop. To my dismay HP went the penny pinching route and didn't even include a back up disc.
Now I'm stuck with Windows 7 and am unable to find any chipset information or drivers. Even installed Windows 7 x64 because I thought maybe the 32bit drivers I was finding were no good.
Any help would be appreciated.
This is probably going to be my first and last HP purchase.

Hi, @SixFistedNinja
If you want to run W7 x64 on there, here are the links to most of the drivers you need...
Chipset (installs the smbus and usb controllers).
Select the W10 x64 chipset driver (which is also good for W7), install and restart the PC.
https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-9-series-chipsets/990fx
Graphics: scroll down the page, select the W7 x64 driver, install and restart the PC
Ethernet: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the W7 driver at the link below...
SD card reader: Download, unzip and run the setup application from the 1st file listed at the link below...
Wifi:

Bluetooth:

HP makes it easy to reinstall W10, the drivers and software that originally came with your PC by creating a bootable USB recovery drive using the cloud recovery tool.
Here is a link for how to use that utility...

>> Not sure when your last PC was produced (before this one) but due to Microsoft decision, PC vendors do not provide any back - up or recovery media from many years. Nowadays and in the past 10 years or more PCs come with a hidden recovery partition inside the HDD. This partition can be used to boot from it and restore the operating system to factory default condition, restore drivers, preinstalled apps, etc... Should users decice they want media, there are plenty of options to create one for free

Hello, it has any drivers for Windows 7 for this PC, so using this system can be a big problem:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-15-db0000-laptop-pc/20395843/model/26556554
The best option will to open your PC and check if you can remove your memory module to replace it with a 8 Gb module and reinstall Windows 10. For this you need to remove your optical drive if you have it (page 34), and your Bottom cover (page 38):
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06245081
You can check page 43 if you can remove your memory slot. On you need to use SO-DIMM DDR4-1866.

You're a gentleman and a saint. I was moments away from installing Slackware and cursing the existence of Microsoft again.
You saved me from living in a CLI again.
When we meet, you may have a horse and a bail of corn.
Thank you.
