Hi,
I received a message from HP Support that an update was needed for my device. It wants me to update the Windows 8.1 Recovery Manager Installer. I noticed when you download the installer it was going to set a "recovery point". How can I be sure the recovery point will NOT be set to the original manufacture point? I don't want to lose my files or anything I have on my PC.
Thank you for your help,
BA

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I would like to inform you that the installer will create a restore point of the last successful boot just before installing the update and it should not affect the data on your computer.
However, if you have important data on the computer, I recommend you take a backup and then install the updates.
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
