Your point makes some sense, but the fact of the matter is HP didn't even have the proper drivers for Windows 8.1 on their website for the Validity FP Readers and that has been out for almost 2 years!
If Lenovo can release new Validity Windows 8.1 drivers, which also work on Windows 10, then why can't HP?
It seems to me that HP abandon's laptops after they are about 2 years old.

HP has made so many PCs and still there is a lot to keep up and HP can not get to all of them and in some cases like my 8 year old pc which i will not see any new drivers & softwares and also any recent OS such as w8 and w10 will not be listed but only vista and w7 is available
so in that case HP will most likely will have updates for PCs that are more recent
good points or advice..
Aslo if the questions or issues solved please check it

I ended up disabling the biometric support in Windows 10 - it would work sometime and other times it wouldn't. It was very flakey. I'm just going to log in with a pin ID from now on.
HP does not seem very interested in updating their drivers to work with Windows 8 or Windows 10 on my Elitebook 8760W.
It's a nice laptop hardware wise, but HP's software support is non-existent.
