I've recently updated my 13" HP Spectre x360 (it came up with an automatic update thing that kept asking me to restart the computer), and I've noticed that ever since I updated it, whenever I try to log into my laptop the Windows Hello feature doesn't want to work. It still says "windows is looking for you" but the red lights next to the camera that used to come on when it was working don't flash anymore.
I tried going into settings to "improve recognition" because I thought this might be the issue, but when I did that, it just shows me a blank screen where my face should be, and again the red lights don't come on.
Is there something wrong with my laptop or is it in fact (as I suspect it might be) the software update? and is there a way I can fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Hello @B-T_22
Did your X360 upgrade to the Fall Creators Update?
If so, you're not alone. Several others have experienced the same issue. Now with the Fall update, other brands are also experiencing the issue.
Microsoft is aware of it and has said they are working on it. But we have no way of knowing when it will be fixed.
They were recomending rolling back to update to the previous state.

Some have said updating or reinstalling the webcam worked Link......
But it apparently does not work for "everyone".

Thank you so much for this. I'm not sure whether the update was to the version you mentioned, but I'm assuming it must be. I tried updating the webcam using the link you provided, and that seemed to work for me.
Thank you so much for your help!
