HP Notebook - 17-by0112ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I would like to download a recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery stick.

https://www.best2serve.com/de-de/page/rcd_landing?utm_source=hp.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign... does not work for me. It stops in the middle of the process entering the S/N.

Using the Cloud Recovery site https://d34z73bbtpzgej.cloudfront.net/ does not work either. After entering the Product ID it says "Item0015".

Where can I download a recovery image or alternatively get another media to reinstall Windows 10 64 bit?

Thanks in advance

Secto

Hi:

HP withdraws support for the HP cloud recovery tool once the PC reaches 5 years of age and your notebook's model series was released to market in May of 2018.

You can use the Microsoft media creation tool on another PC to create a bootable W10 installation flash drive to reinstall W10 on the new drive.

Download Windows 10

Your notebook's Windows product key is encrypted in the BIOS so you will not need the product key to install Windows.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

To boot from the W10 installation flash drive, have it in your notebook's USB port.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu and from that, select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the flash drive and you follow the on-screen instructions to install W10.

There are several guides for how to do this on the internet such as this one:

Install Windows 10 using a USB Drive (Media Creation Tool)
