HP 15-f272wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently checked for windows updates and allowed it to begin downloading the available updates. However, the update process has been stuck at 99% for over 3 days now. While majority of the updates display a status of "waiting to install" , 4 updates still have the status "downloading".

Is there a way to install the ones that are waiting to be installed and cancel the others? or restart the downloads?

Restart the system. If that doesn't clear the problem:

  • Settings (click the Windows icon at the left of the task bar, then click the cog icon)
  • Update & Security
  • Troubleshoot
  • Windows Update
  • Run the Troubleshooter

Normally all that is needed after that is to restart the system again, then check for updates again.
