Hi,
I'm experiencing a serious issue with my HP laptop running Windows 11 Home.
After installing the Windows Update Realtek - AudioProcessingObject - 13.2077.1657.496 my system fails to boot properly. I receive an error message stating that no boot device or boot sector is found. Fortunately, after several forced restarts, the system eventually boots — but this is unreliable and clearly not a long-term solution.
The bigger issue is that Windows continues to automatically reinstall this update, triggering the same boot problem again and again. This results in a frustrating crash loop and makes the laptop unstable and difficult to use.
It appears to be a hardware driver issue related to the Realtek audio hardware. I hope that HP can investigate and address this problem in collaboration with Realtek, as it seems to be affecting system reliability at a low level.

Try these steps:
Roll Back the Realtek Audio Driver
Open Device Manager:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
Locate the Realtek Audio Driver:
- Expand the Sound, video and game controllers category.
- Right-click on the Realtek Audio device and select Properties.
Rollback Driver:
- Go to the Driver tab.
- Click Roll Back Driver if it's available, and follow the prompts to revert to the previous driver version.
Use System Restore
If rolling back the driver doesn’t resolve the issue, you can use System Restore to revert your system to a point before the issue began.
Access System Restore:
- In Windows search, type Create a restore point and select it from the results.
- Under the System Protection tab, select System Restore.
Restore Your System:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to choose a restore point before the driver update.
- Complete the restoration process and restart your laptop.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Updating the BIOS and drivers can help resolve compatibility issues.
Visit HP Support:
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Enter your laptop model: HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-fc0000.
Download Updates:
- Update the BIOS to the latest version available.
- Install all available driver updates, particularly for chipset and storage controllers.
Reset BIOS to Default Settings
Resetting the BIOS can help clear any incorrect settings that might be causing the boot issue.
Enter BIOS Setup:
- Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup menu.
Restore Defaults:
- Locate the option to Load Setup Defaults or similar.
- Save and exit the BIOS.
