Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

This morning, I decided to check  for updates through the Windows Update and noticed one update was the HP firmware. There is also a picture attached to better understand where I am coming from. The last time when this had happened, my computer attempted to update the BIOS and it screwed my laptop up to the point where I had to send it in to get it repaired. Since my classes are soon to be approaching, I want to prevent that from happening again. So if by chance it is the bios, can I postpone once it goes through the process? I am not sure what to do. Thanks in advance20190802_072539.jpg

Hi @littlelady8

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

To pause the updates, try these steps -

1) Click on the Start or the Windows icon and open Settings.

2) Click on Update & Security.

3) Click on Advanced options

4) Under Pause Updates, toggle the switch to off

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
