I got my windows image corrupted after the last update. And I don't see any windows recovery environment or the advanced recovery option to be available. I don't want a new image. Can you advise?hperror.jfif

Hi @mirceas

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

The error you're seeing, "The operating system couldn't be loaded because Code Integrity failed to initialize. Error code: 0xc0430001", typically indicates a corruption in the boot configuration, driver signature enforcement failure, or malware/rootkit interference. Here's a step-by-step recovery plan to help you fix it:

Step 1: Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

If you can’t access WinRE normally:

  1. Force shutdown your laptop by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
  2. Repeat this 3 times—on the 3rd boot, Windows should enter Recovery Mode.
  3. Select Advanced Options > Troubleshoot.

Step 2: Run Startup Repair

  1. In Advanced Options, select Startup Repair.
  2. Let it scan and attempt to fix boot issues.

If this doesn’t work, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Use Command Prompt to Rebuild Boot Configuration

  • In Advanced Options, open Command Prompt.
  • Run the following commands one by one: bootrec /fixmbr
  • bootrec /fixboot
  • bootrec /scanos
  • bootrec /rebuildbcd
  • Restart your laptop.

Step 4: Disable Driver Signature Enforcement

  1. In Advanced Options, go to Startup Settings.
  2. Click Restart, then press 7 or F7 to Disable driver signature enforcement.
  3. If your system boots, the issue is likely a corrupted or unsigned driver.

I hope this helps. Please share me the Model number of your device.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
