I have an issue only when there’s updates involved. Usually start up and restart work without a hitch. Computer is 7 months old and this has been happening since I got it.
On restarting my computer after any form of update the computer screen won’t load up completely. The HP loading circle comes up but then there’s nothing. I am left with the keyboard working (as it still lights up) but there’s no response from the screen on any mouse or keyboard activity.
I’m forced to hard shut down it or let the battery drain (which can take a few days).
On rebooting after the hard shut down I’m either left with the same issue (where I have to force shutdown again) or an error message saying windows didn’t load correctly with a few options. From there it’s hit and miss with the options, the restart option usually does achieve any positive results. I haven’t been able to boot up from a USB. The troubleshooting doesn’t explain anything. I have got windows going from there at one point, I don’t know what was done differently though.
It normally takes 4-5 hard shutdowns for it to start up like there wasn’t a problem to begin with.
I want to send it away and get checked out however I’m working from home due to COVID19 and can’t afford not to have my computer for that long.
Any advice on what’s causing this or how I can go about rectifying it would be much appreciated.
Thanks guys

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you run the SFC scan. You can refer to this Link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker
Also download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
