I've had this laptop for about one year only using the figerprint sensor for windows hello. The facial recognition however does not work. It will allow me to set up my face, but when I am presented in the login screen, nothing happens (The IR camera does not turn ) . I am only able to enter my password, pin, or use my fingerprint.

I have updated all my drivers using a program (driver booster) to make sure I didn't miss any, turned off fast startup, updated my bios, and tryed usnig the windows troubleshooting program. None seemed to work.

I have never used Driver Booster but I know that HP machines are very selective about the drivers that work with the hardware. You are much better off using drivers from your Support page. I notice there is a new camera driver posted Feb, 2018. Have you tried it?

Hello.

I just downloaded the driver you mentioned, unfortunately it did not solve my problem.

I tried to remove the previous face recognition and add a new one, but that did not work either
