Product: HP Pavilion Laptop 15-eg0070wm
I manually updated my HP Pavillion eg0070 from Windows 11 21H2 to 24H2. It finished the update successfully and was installing some final updates in the background. Then the laptop crashed and gave me BSOD. It is now stuck in automatic repair loop and it says it can't uninstall the latest quality update. I also can't rollback the pc or rest it because it fails each time. What do I do now?

Hi @KGrant7,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Enter Safe Mode:
- Restart your PC and force it to shut down when you see the HP logo by holding the power button. Do this three times to trigger the "Preparing Automatic Repair" screen.
- Once there, follow these steps:
- Select Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
- After restart, press F4 or F5 to enter Safe Mode with networking.
Perform a System Restore:
- Once in Safe Mode, try to use System Restore to revert to a point before the update:
- Search for Recovery in the Start menu.
- Select Open System Restore.
- Follow the prompts to restore to a point before the Windows update.
Driver Rollback/Uninstall:
- In Safe Mode, check for problematic drivers:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Right-click on any recent driver changes (marked with a warning symbol) and select Rollback or Uninstall.
Run Disk Check and System File Checker:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator:
- Type chkdsk /f /r, press Enter, and run the disk check after confirming the schedule.
- Next, type sfc /scannow, press Enter to run the System File Checker.
Delete Pending Windows Updates:
- Sometimes pending updates can cause issues:
- Navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download.
- Delete all files in this folder.
Repair Windows Installation:
- Use Windows installation media (USB/DVD) to attempt a repair install:
- Boot from the installation media.
- Select Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair or Command Prompt.
- You can use DISM commands to repair the image:
- Type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.
I hope this helps.
