I bought this new laptop on Amazon which arrived on 10/25/25. It's a HP Laptop 14-fq1003cl (81K12UA)
Product 81K12UA, Serial # Removed. Why is the warranty expired, and I am unable to update Windows 11?

When you check for updates using the Microsoft update app, does it download the option to update to W11 25H2 that way?
If not your only option would be to switch out of S-Mode and convert to the regular version of W11 where you can install any app you want.
See this link for how to switch out of S-Mode:

This forum is a peer to peer forum.
We do not work for or represent HP.
HP starts the warranty clock ticking the minute the PC leaves the assembly plant.
So the longer the time elapses from assembly date to the purchase date, the less time remains on the warranty.
Please contact HP customer service beginning at the link below and submit a support request to have the warranty start and end dates adjusted to the date you purchased the PC.
What is preventing you from updating the notebook to W11?
The expired warranty would have no bearing on that.
I've updated PC where the warranties expired 13 years ago to W11.

You're very welcome.
Your PC must have W11 22H2 installed because even W11 23H2 doesn't go out of support until next month.
You can update your notebook to the latest version of W11 (25H2) by clicking on the blue W11 Installation Assistant button at the link below (1st option).
