Dear Expert

First of all thank you for your respone, I have one doubt. My laptop has 4GB RAM in primary slot. Is it possible for me to ad 8GB RAM in secondary slot. Further I request you to provide the website link to buy the RAM, since in the last link it says "no result", while trying to buy via "where to buy" option.

Thanks in advance

You're very welcome.

Yes, you can add an 8 GB chip to the 4 GB chip.  Not the best way to do things but it can be done.

Installing memory in matching capacities (2 x 8 GB, 2 x 4 GB), is better than installing mismatched capacities (8 GB + 4 GB), because memory installed in matching capacities runs in dual channel mode, and memory running in mismatched capacities, or with an empty memory slot, runs in the lower performing single channel mode.

As far as where you can buy compatible memory...no one here would be able to help you with that.

I do not work for, or represent HP and I live in the middle of the United States, so I would have no idea where you can buy memory, or what brands are available for you to buy in India.

I would get the crucial memory part number you are interested in buying and enter it in a search window on Amazon, India or some other site you are familiar with buying electronic/PC items from in India.

https://www.amazon.in/

You can get other brand memory.  It just has to be DDR3L-12800 (1.35V) memory.

If you find some memory, you can post the link to it, and I will give you my opinion as to whether or not it should work.
