Hi @Bemmerman,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The “initialized.library failed” error on your HP ENVY x360 - 15 suggests there might be a problem with the boot files or system configuration. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Check BIOS Settings:

  • Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing Esc or F10 during startup.
  • Verify that your boot order is set correctly, with the primary hard drive or SSD as the first boot device.
  • Ensure that Secure Boot and Fast Boot are enabled if your system requires them.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Disconnect all external devices.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the power and try booting again.

Check the Battery and Connections:

  • Ensure that the new battery is properly seated and connected.
  • Verify that the AC adapter and power cord are functioning correctly and securely connected.

Run System Diagnostics:

  • Restart your laptop and press F2 to enter HP Diagnostics.
  • Run a full system test to check for any hardware issues.

Use Windows Recovery Options:

  • Boot from a Windows recovery USB or DVD.
  • Select “Repair your computer” and try options like “Startup Repair” or “System Restore.”

Check for Corrupted Boot Files:

  • If you can access a command prompt from the recovery environment, try running the following commands:
    • bootrec /fixmbr
    • bootrec /fixboot
    • bootrec /scanos
    • bootrec /rebuildbcd

Consider a Clean Install:

  • If the issue persists, you might need to consider a clean installation of Windows. Make sure to back up your data if possible.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
