HP Pavilion - 15-cs0064st
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Suddenly, I can’t boot into WIN 10. Ran diagnostics test and get 3FO error (Please install an operating system on your hard disk). The system diagnostics and the memory test, quick and extended checks if hard drive all pass. Any tips?

Hello @Bigmac17

Sorry to hear that you are having problems ... I would like to help you.

(1)

Possible <hard disk> 3F0 error causes
- Incorrect BIOS boot sequence
- Corrupted disk partition
- Boot sector virus ( unlikely with Secure Boot enabled )
- Loose hard drive connecting cable

- Broken hard disk

(2To help you I just need to know the product number (p/n) xxxxxx#xxx of your notebook !

It looks something like this:

You will find this information on the back/rear of your notebook in small alphanumeric letters.

Kind regards

Thank you for your reply. I ended up taking my laptop to a shop and they replaced the mechanical drive with an SSD. They were able to clone my old drive and install it on my new SSD so that I didn’t lose anything. All is good again!
