I reset my laptop and erased all files. After everything was done and it rebooted it came on like a new computer. I put in the time zone and pushed next. It said the computer won’t restart but it probably needed an update so click next and it will update. But it doesn’t work. It just goes right back to the start up screen. the Jp symbol comes on and then the same hi there screen comes on where you put in your prefe

Hi @Zastrow,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Notebook 15-Dy1032wm. If your laptop is not restarting properly after a reset, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Forced restart: Sometimes, a forced restart can help resolve temporary glitches. To perform a forced restart, press and hold the power button until the laptop shuts down completely. Then, wait a few seconds and press the power button again to turn it back on.
- Check power source: Ensure that your laptop is connected to a power source and that the battery is charged. If the battery is low or depleted, connect the power adapter and allow it to charge for a while before attempting to restart.
- Remove external devices: Disconnect any external devices, such as USB drives, printers, or external monitors, from your laptop. Sometimes, incompatible or faulty devices can prevent a system from restarting properly.
- Perform a hard reset: A hard reset can help clear any temporary configuration issues. To do this, disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if possible). Then, press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds. After that, release the power button, reconnect the power adapter (without the battery), and try turning on the laptop.
- BIOS reset: If the above steps don't work, you can try resetting the BIOS settings. To do this, power off your laptop completely, then power it back on and repeatedly tap the F10 key until the BIOS setup utility opens. Once in the BIOS, look for an option to restore default settings or load-optimized defaults. Save the changes and exit the BIOS, then check if the laptop restarts properly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
