Short Answer
Normal.
You have to purchase Office Software if you want it.
Longer Answer
"New computer" is not as important as whether the system came with a paid version of Microsoft 365 -
What?
Most computers do not come with Office Software.
At best, you get a Trial version or an invitation from Microsoft to purchase a subscription to their Office suite.
You may purchase or rent (subscribe) to Microsoft Software.
Buy Microsoft Office 2021 | Microsoft 365
OR
You can choose to keep your money and use free Office type software.
"Not-Office" is not the same as Office --
The free software is generally perfectly usable -- People all over the world choose to live this way.
