Hi @kk878

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It looks like your HP Notebook 15-da0297tu is missing important Windows updates, which can affect security and performance.

Here’s how to restore Windows Update:

1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter

  • Open Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  • Select Windows Update and run the troubleshooter.
  • Follow any recommended fixes.

2. Reset Windows Update Components

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator (Win + X > Command Prompt (Admin)).
  • Run the following commands one by one:

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver
  • Restart your laptop and check for updates again.

3. Manually Install Updates

  • Visit HP’s driver support page for your laptop.
  • Download and install any missing BIOS, chipset, and Windows drivers.
  • Then, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click Check for updates.

4. Check HP’s Windows 10 Support Center

  • HP provides troubleshooting steps for update issues here.
  • You might find additional fixes specific to HP laptops.

5. Perform a System File Check

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Run: sfc /scannow
  • This will scan and repair corrupted system files that might be blocking updates.

If updates still won’t install, let me know what error messages you’re seeing, and I’ll guide you further!
