Hi @XSniper99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Victus 15 laptop with an Intel i5-12450H is not showing the Advanced BIOS tab, and you want to enable NVIDIA NVENC video encoder. Here’s a detailed explanation and what you can do:

Why the Advanced Tab is Hidden

HP laptops, including the Victus series, hide advanced BIOS options by default to prevent accidental changes that could affect system stability.

Most options like NVENC or integrated graphics settings are locked and not user-accessible.

Enabling NVENC doesn’t always require BIOS access — NVIDIA GPU features are mostly controlled via the driver and software in Windows.

Enable NVIDIA NVENC in Windows

You can use NVENC without changing BIOS settings:

Install the latest NVIDIA driver for your GPU from NVIDIA’s official site.

Check NVIDIA Control Panel:

Right-click desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D settings → Video Encoding (if available).

Use NVENC in software: Most video editing or streaming software (OBS, Adobe Premiere, HandBrake) detect NVENC automatically if the driver supports it.

Recommended Approach

Update your BIOS via HP Support Assistant to the latest version.

Use Windows and NVIDIA drivers to control NVENC.

Most users never need to unlock the BIOS for NVENC, it works automatically if drivers are installed correctly.

I hope this helps.
