Example: Pavilion g6 notebook

i recently updated my 8 year old pavilion g6 notebook from windows 7 to 10- it hasnt started properly since. advanced diagnostic shows hard drive 1, primary battery & memory module 1- all failed. Will a factory reset save it or is it knacked?

First of all, those errors are hardware and a factory reset does nothing to affect the hardware.  It completely reformats the hard drive and if there is any problem with that drive, it will fail.

Second, if this is the original drive, then it is almost certainly failing by this time.  I have a ten-year old laptop and the original drive did not last even 5 years.
