HP 250 15.6 inch G9 Notebook PC (511V8AV)

After purchase of Laptop I used MS office after login through my Microsoft account. Now after PC reset I am unable to use MS Office as the same is not activated after PC reset. I am unable to get any support from Microsoft as they are saying we have no information available about that as the same is preinstalled at HP end. How I again install and activate MS office in my lap top as I used this from day one. The same is preinstalled in my PC

Hi  @birenderpa,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  this must be, since you were able to use Microsoft Office from the first day of purchase and now, after resetting the PC, Office is no longer activated.

To help us better understand your situation, could you kindly confirm the below details :

  • Which version of Microsoft Office was previously activated? (Microsoft 365, Office Home & Student, Office Home & Business, etc.)
  • Are you signing in with the same Microsoft account that was used before the PC reset?
  • What exact message or error do you see when trying to activate Office?
  • Was Office reinstalled automatically after the reset, or did you install it manually?

In the meantime, kindly try these below steps and confirm :

  1. Confirm you are using the same Microsoft account that was originally linked to Office.
    • Sign in to your Microsoft account and check if the Office license is associated with that account.
  2. Check if Office is listed under your Microsoft Services & Subscriptions page:
    • Sign in to your Microsoft account and verify whether an active Office license is displayed.
  3. Open any Office application (Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Go to File -Account and check the activation status.
    • If prompted, sign out and then sign back in using the original Microsoft account.
  4. If Office is missing, reinstall it through your Microsoft account portal and then sign in to activate it.
  5. Run Windows Update and install all available updates, then restart the notebook and try activating Office again.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
