Hi @Peadar2,
Welcome to the HP support community.
I checked the code you gave (00325-81681-81938-AAOEM), and with respect to that string is not a usable HP Product Number or Service Tag, so we can’t look up model-specific RAM specs or maximum supported memory from it.
What we need to check is your RAM and upgrade options
Please provide one of these (best order):
- HP Service Tag (7 characters, e.g. 5CG1234).
- Product number/model exactly as printed by HP (examples: 24-df0000, 14-d6000, B0ST0AV, etc.).
- A clear photo of the label/sticker on the back or bottom of the All-in-One that shows the model/product number and Service Tag.
With the Service Tag or exact product number, I can look up the official HP spec sheet and tell you: RAM type (DDR4/DDR5, SODIMM vs DIMM), factory configuration, number of slots, and maximum supported memory.
Please help us with your HP unit serial number or the product number in a private message for further assistance.

Hi Vikram,
Thanks very much for your reply. The info I got from the label is:
Model: 24dd0056
ProductID:9EF14AA#ABA
I'm wondering if I should add 4G RAM to make it 8. Or remove existing RAM and add two 8G components to make it 16.
The computer has a Celeron 2G processor which is definitely limited. However, my usage profile is lite ... I would typically have one browser tab open for e-mail and one or two for browsing.
Much appreciated
Peadar

Hi @Peadar2,
Thanks for the model and Product ID. I checked the official HP listings and common parts databases for the HP All-in-One 24-dd0056 (SKU 9EF14AA#ABA) and here’s the careful, model-specific answer.
Short answer (up front)
For the 24-dd0056, the RAM upgrade options are very limited. Most official/spec listings and third-party part finders show this machine ships with 4 GB DDR4 (1 × 4 GB) and indicate a maximum supported memory of 8 GB (single SODIMM), which means fitting two 8 GB modules (to reach 16 GB) is not supported.
Recommendation
- Do not plan on replacing RAM with two 8 GB modules to get 16 GB. This is very likely not supported for the 24-dd0056 SKU you listed.
- If Task Manager/PowerShell shows 1 of 1 slot and your system limit is 8 GB, the practical option is to replace the existing 4 GB SODIMM with one 8 GB DDR4-2400 (PC4-19200) SODIMM if you want to move to 8 GB. That will give you the most straightforward improvement without risking incompatibility.
- Because this is an All-in-One, opening the chassis can be fiddly and may affect the warranty. Consider an authorized service if you’re not comfortable doing the swap.
Take care and have an amazing day!
