Hi @barış5
Welcome to the HP support community.
If you're experiencing issues with the virus quick scan not working and having trouble connecting Bluetooth on your HP 255 G8 Notebook PC, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve these problems:
Virus Quick Scan Not Working
Update Antivirus Software:
- Make sure your antivirus software is up to date. Open your antivirus program and check for any available updates.
Restart the Antivirus Application:
- Close the antivirus program completely and then reopen it. Try initiating a quick scan again.
Run as Administrator:
- Right-click on the antivirus icon and select Run as administrator. This may resolve any permission issues.
Check for Conflicts:
- If you have multiple antivirus programs installed, they might conflict with each other. Consider disabling or uninstalling any secondary antivirus software.
Repair the Antivirus Installation:
- In the Control Panel, find your antivirus program in Programs and Features. Select it and choose the option to Repair the installation.
Check Event Logs:
- Open the Event Viewer by typing eventvwr in the Run dialog (Windows key + R). Look for any error messages related to your antivirus software that might give clues about the issue.
Reinstall Antivirus Software:
- If the problem persists, uninstall the antivirus software completely and then reinstall it.
Bluetooth Connection Issues
Check Bluetooth Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices and ensure Bluetooth is turned on.
Update Bluetooth Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (right-click on the Start button).
- Expand Bluetooth, right-click your Bluetooth device, and select Update driver.
Bluetooth Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select Bluetooth and run the troubleshooter to identify and fix issues.
Restart Bluetooth Services:
- Open the Run dialog (Windows key + R) and type services.msc.
- Locate Bluetooth Support Service, right-click it, and select Restart.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your operating system is up to date by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Remove and Re-Pair Devices:
- If you're trying to connect to a specific device, remove it from the Bluetooth settings and try to re-pair it.
Reset Network Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status and select Network reset. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth.
I hope this helps! Keep me posted.
