Hi @Sinpel,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how frustrating it is when your laptop battery dies in just 10 minutes. Let’s walk through the possible causes and steps to help you fix or improve the situation.

Common Reasons for Rapid Battery Drain:

  1. Battery Wear or Aging
  2. Background Processes or High-Power Usage
  3. Incorrect Power Settings
  4. Battery Calibration Issues

Steps to Diagnose and Improve Battery Life:

1. Run HP Battery Check Tool

2. Check Battery Report in Windows

  • Press Windows + X → choose Windows PowerShell (Admin).
  • Type: powercfg /batteryreport
  • This generates a report at:
    C:\Users\<YourUsername>\battery-report.html
Open it to see battery capacity trends and recent usage.

3. Adjust Power Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Power & Battery.
  • Set Power Mode to Battery Saver or Balanced.
  • Turn off background apps and reduce screen brightness.

4. Update BIOS and Drivers

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
