On my notebook HP Spectre x360 - 13-aw0702nz appears the error message 601 on a black screen before booting. In that case the following steps should be done: first - update bios- and second run hp hardware diagnostic.
hp support assistant says that the battery should be replaced. But that info could not be correct because the bios is not up to date.
I tried to update bios (my last one is from nov. 2024) on different hp support sites. But my OS win11 is not onto the list, only win10!
It seems that my OS can't be identified correctly. That is strange because in all local information systems it is saying the the complete system is up to date and running well.
I updated my OS from win10 to win11 following the suggestion by WindowsUpdate a week ago. Win11 is running well so far. But I need the correct bios otherwise the battery could get too hot.
Who can help?

I do thank you for your quick answer. As soon as I can use my Notebook again I will try!

Due to battery Problem I can't use it. I think I have to replace it.

If you start the BIOS update from inside Windows, you'll be prompted to restart, and that's the time the update stage will move into the EFI environment outside of Windows, where the BIOS update will actually take place.

So, it's safe to update the BIOS with a BIOS update file under W10 in your W11 device.

See the thread below that deals with the same issue.
