Hi @Festii,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The 7-blink Caps Lock error on your HP Envy laptop typically indicates a BIOS corruption or a motherboard issue. Here are the steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve it.
Reset the BIOS:
- Perform a hard reset:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Disconnect any external devices.
- Remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to discharge any remaining power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning it on.
Reflash the BIOS:
If the BIOS is corrupted, you may need to reflash it. You can do this through the HP Recovery or BIOS Recovery process.
- Using HP BIOS Recovery:
- Create a BIOS recovery USB drive: Download the BIOS version for your model from the HP support website.
- Insert the USB drive into the laptop.
- Turn off the laptop and then press and hold the Windows + B keys (or Windows + V on some models) while pressing the power button.
- Release the power button but keep holding the keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to recover the BIOS.
Check for Hardware Issues:
- If the BIOS recovery does not work, there might be an underlying hardware issue. This could involve a damaged motherboard or a failing BIOS chip.
- Diagnostic Tests: Use HP's built-in diagnostic tool to check for hardware problems. Turn on the laptop and repeatedly press the ESC key to open the startup menu, then select Diagnostics to run a full system check.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
