Pavilion dv7
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The bios for my hp notebook is corrupt.  Since it has a had the hard drive replaced, it does not have the boot partition, so key combinations do not work.

My laptop is a DV7-4272US Product id XZ293UAR#ABA.  It has windows 7 64-bit running on it. A check on the hp's support page says that it can't find any support files for my computer.

I realize that this is an old computer, but it still functions well, or at least did till this bios issue.

Where can I go to get a bios recovery file for my laptop?

Hi:

You must be using W10 to search, because there is a full set of W7 drivers on the support page.

You need to change the operating system, select Windows, and then on the right side of the popup window, select W7 64 bit.

To the best of my knowledge, any BIOS files have to be run in the Windows environment.

If you know differently, then here is the direct link to the latest W7 BIOS update for your PC...

Actually the only windows machine I have is windows 7 and that is the one that has died.

The rest are linux.  When I go to the support page, it asks for my serial number.  I put that in and

it identifies correctly the model of my laptop.  It also says that there are no support files for that model

of laptop.  That doesn't seem to me that it would be os dependent but stranger things have

happened.  Thank you for the direct link to the bios file.
