You can do it via a live image & efibootmgr

Probably  even easier with something like EasyUEFI

Did you manage to get this sorted?

tried solutions  couldn't get it to work not worth the effort spent a couple of hours fiddling around , solved the problem by doing a lean install

thanks to everyone that offered a solution

clean install took less time than the time I wasted trying to fix problem

For the future needs,, it should be possible to manipulate these entries from within WIndows as well without anything extra. The NVRAM should be editable with the msconfig command as well as from the command line using bcdedit (in Admin mode)

1. WinKey+R, type msconfig and hit Enter

2. Select Boot

3. Now you should see your installed operating systems and should be able to select the default to boot etc.

4. You should select the Make all boot settings permanent unless you want the selection to stick

As I don't have multiple operating systems installed I can't test it, but would be good to hear how e.g. changing the default os that boot goes.
