elitebook 8460p
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

did the last update from the hp website for this laptop en downloaded WSSP85528.exe

went through the process and chose for direct install

it closed with the message wanting to reboot and than all went wrong.

black screen.

blincking capslock (code that the bios was corrupt)

than fan starts to blow, does not respond to the power button, no working windows+B ore V

Nor the push the 4 arrows at startup.

Than the biggest problem came to the front.

the Hp-tools does not seem to work.

files are on the usb, but can't boot with it.

tried and tried, choose the: create USB, than nothing seems to happen.

it is very frustrating that when using software from HP things go wrong and you can't solve them and making rescue material does not seem to work on win10

but what can i do now?

i called the HP service desk and they told me that they could not help me.

the only thing that maybe could work was a HD from a 8460P with win 7 on it with the bios files on a EFI partition, while WIN10 is UEFI.

so anyone a idea how to solve this?

for days i am trying to find a solution but nothing seems to work.

found a doc about that a bios updater gives you the choice on putting the EFI bios files on the laptop, USB ore a other HD.

That could be a solution, but can't find the right program because the original last bios update gives HD ore USB (but the last will not make a bootable USB drive on a win10 system.
