Hi @Salah77,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

The error message "BIOS update not supported using legacy flash method" indicates that your HP laptop requires a specific process to update the BIOS, often through a USB recovery drive. Here’s how to resolve this issue by creating a BIOS recovery USB drive:

Step-by-Step Instructions

Prepare a USB Drive:

  • Use a USB drive with at least 8 GB of space.
  • Ensure there are no important files on the USB drive, as this process will format it.

Download the BIOS Update:

  • Go to the HP Support website.
  • Enter your laptop model and navigate to the Drivers & Downloads section.
  • Select the correct operating system, and under the BIOS category, download the latest BIOS update file.

Create the BIOS Recovery USB Drive:

  • Locate the downloaded BIOS update file on your computer and double-click it to run the installer.
  • The installer will extract the files and guide you through the process. Look for an option to create a recovery USB drive.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to select the USB drive you prepared and complete the creation process.

Boot from the BIOS Recovery USB Drive:

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Insert the USB drive into the laptop.
  • Turn on the laptop and immediately start pressing the Esc key repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Press F9 to open the Boot Device Options menu.
  • Select the USB drive from the list and press Enter.

Update the BIOS:

  • The system should boot from the USB drive and start the BIOS update process automatically.
  • Follow any on-screen instructions. The process might take several minutes and your laptop may restart multiple times.

Additional Tips

  • Ensure Power Supply: Make sure your laptop is plugged into a reliable power source during the BIOS update to avoid any interruptions.
  • Do Not Interrupt: Do not turn off or restart your laptop during the BIOS update process.

Troubleshooting

  • If the USB drive is not recognized or the process fails, try reformatting the USB drive and repeating the steps.
  • Ensure you have downloaded the correct BIOS update file for your specific laptop model.

If you encounter any issues, I recommend you contact phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
