X2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi. my X2 notebook crashed and i'm unable to recover it to functioning. the display asks me to type in the bitlocker code after going to such and such microsoft page but i am unable to get anywhere from there. so i tried all possible solutions offered which led me nowhere. i tried an iso reinstall burning the image on a usb drive both with mbr and gpt partition (i don't know the difference but i tried what i could) and therefore as both bios and uefi or uefi only.
unfortunately, all the times i've tried and whatever the paths i have followed always get me the same "unable to recognize hardware" message although i am dealing with sw ???  the image doesn't load.
after all these attempts, when i click on the "usb recovery" option the pc just shuts off while before it stayed on forever (sending me in circles of fruitless options).
is there anything i can do at this point?
thanks!

hi toad. thx for the reply. i followed yr instructions but in a sense i'm back at square 1: the support page offers
1) paid assistance (29,99) - so if the guy who answers is a dud i'm out of time and money
2) support through the forum - i'm here already
3) support for out-of-warranty products - back to my pc which doesn't work

are you suggesting 1) as the only viable solution?
thanks and let me know.

what the X2 is telling me (blue screens) is that the unit is locked. as there are no partitions in it it is C:
