HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb030
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I can't instal the update hp development company, l.p. - system - 11/19/2017 12:00:00 am - 7.0.1.1 because when I restart the pc to instal the update, the laptop crashes and gives me a blue screen with the error bad_pool_header. Then the laptop restart and execute a system recovery. Then the laptop is working fine but the update isn't installed.

How can I fix this problem?

Glad to have you back.

You've been fabulous to work with considering your superb technical skills, remarkable patience and great attitude. Kudos to you for that.

You may attempt a Microsoft Push Button Reset. This repairs your computer by reinstalling the operating system. This can be done either while preserving your personal data and customizations, or removing all your personal data.

Hope this helps. Let me know.

Cheers! 🙂

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂

I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that on your HP Pavilion Power 15-cb000 Laptop, the update HP development company, l.P. - system - 11/19/2017 12:00:00 am - 7.0.1.1 does not go through and when restarting the laptop, the laptop crashes and displays a blue screen with the error bad_pool_header.

During my research, I came across the following troubleshooting steps that have fixed this issue in the past:

Please try these steps if you have a working Keyboard.

  1. In the search box on the taskbar, type cmd.
  2. Right-click (or tap and hold) Command Prompt in the search results and select Run as administrator.
  3. In the Command Prompt window, type the command listed below and press ENTER.

dism /online /remove-package /packagename: package_for_RollupFix~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~16299.248.1.17

(NOTE: There is no space between packagename: and package_for_RollupFix.)

Restart your HP laptop and check the performance of the laptop. In case the problem persists then you may refer to this Link. This is a non-HP link and is from Microsoft. This document shares information about the recent Windows update that causes the USB devices to not work and how to fix it.

I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Let me know how it goes.

Cheers! 🙂

I did what you said and then I tried again to install the update. But the same happened the system crashed during the restart. But this time I got a blue screen with the error: page fault in nonpaged area error.

The system is up-to-date. I have installed all recent updates and my drivers are also up-to-date(scanned by intel driver & support assistant).

How can I fix this...? Maybe I have to do a reinstall of windows and then trying to install the update....

The windows reinstallation has been succesfully completed. And more important the update hp development company, l.p. - system 7.0.1.1 has been succesfully completed.

So far it is going well...

But then I try to install some updates with HP support assistant. HP support assistant does download the updates but when HP support assistant the updates try to install, the installation does not execute and HP support assitant cancel the installation(I have tested it with various updates).

So how can I fix this?

Great job by you for troubleshooting. I'm glad that the primary issue got fixed. 🙂

If you are having problems updating HP Support Assistant or downloading and installing updates through HP Support Assistant, download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the HP Support Assistant website.

If problems persist, make sure your Internet access is working correctly (that is, you can browse the Internet and view Web pages), and the installed security software (firewall) is not blocking the updates to HP Support Assistant.

Feel free to reach out for any further help.

Take care! 🙂
