After going through the "writing the BIOS image" and "verifying BIOS image". it goes to the BIOS recovery complete page It mentions laptop will be restarted but it does not restart. After some time I press the power button to start the laptop. it goes to the following screen. It goes till some percent and automatically shutdown. when press power again, it goes to same screen and goes to some percent and shuts down. Please help! and don't suggest "win"+ B or remove battery and plug again. I already done these solutions but it is not working. It repeats whole process. Please suggest some solutions.2025-09-12.png

Hi @Abhishek234,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Your BIOS recovery completes, but instead of restarting normally, the laptop shuts down during the reinstallation process and keeps looping back to the same recovery screen. Standard key combos like Win+B or battery resets haven’t helped.

Check Power Supply & Stability

Ensure the laptop is connected to the original charger.

Avoid relying on the battery alone during BIOS recovery, as interruptions can corrupt the flashing process.

Try USB-Based BIOS Recovery

Download the latest BIOS for your exact model from HP’s official support site.

Format a USB drive to FAT32.

Use HP BIOS Update Utility (or manually copy the .bin or .fd file) to create a BIOS recovery USB.

Insert the USB, then power on with Win + V (instead of B) while plugging in power. This sometimes forces USB BIOS recovery.

Clear RTC/CMOS

If possible, remove the CMOS battery (small coin cell) for a few minutes and reinsert it.

This clears corrupted BIOS settings and may allow the recovery to restart cleanly.

Try an Older BIOS Version

Sometimes the latest BIOS image may not flash properly. Try downloading a previous stable version and repeat the USB recovery process.

I hope this helps.

Hi @Abhishek234,

Thanks for your update! 😊

I understand that you’re running Windows 11, but the HP Support site is showing only a Windows 10 BIOS for your laptop model. That’s normal, HP typically releases a single BIOS version per model that supports both Windows 10 and Windows 11. You don’t need a separate Windows 11 BIOS.

Here are the next steps to move forward with the BIOS recovery issue:

USB-Based BIOS Recovery

Download the latest available BIOS for your exact laptop model from the HP Support site (even if it shows Windows 10).

Format a USB drive to FAT32 and copy the BIOS file onto it.

Insert the USB, then power on the laptop while holding Win + V to initiate USB BIOS recovery.

Ensure Stable Power

Keep the laptop connected to the original charger during the recovery process.

Avoid attempting recovery on battery alone to prevent interruptions.

Try a Previous BIOS Version

If the latest BIOS keeps failing, download an older stable version for your model and repeat the USB recovery process.

I hope this helps.
