HI @Nahed1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand that your SSD works correctly in another computer, but it is not detected in the partition selection screen during installation, even after loading the Intel VMD and RST drivers. Let's gather a few details to identify the cause.

Could you please confirm the following?

  • What is your exact HP laptop or desktop model?
  • Are you performing a clean Windows installation using a bootable USB, or is the system failing to boot into an existing Windows installation?
  • Which Windows version are you installing: Windows 10 or Windows 11?
  • Does the SSD appear in BIOS/UEFI or HP PC Hardware Diagnostics, even though it is missing from Windows Setup?
  • Which VMD/RST driver version did you load, and did Windows Setup display any error after loading it?
  • Did this issue start after replacing the SSD, changing BIOS settings, or reinstalling Windows?

In the meantime, please try these checks:

  • Restart the computer and press Esc repeatedly, then press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI, if available.
  • Check whether the SSD is detected under the Storage or Drive test section.
  • If the SSD is detected, run the available storage test and note any failure or 24-digit Failure ID.
  • If you are installing Windows, ensure you downloaded the storage controller driver for your exact HP model and Windows version from the official HP Software and Driver Downloads page.

Please do not change the BIOS storage-controller mode or delete existing partitions yet, as this could affect existing data or prevent the current operating system from booting.

Share the details above, and we can determine the next troubleshooting steps.

Best regards,
Kuroi_Kenshi
