Product: Elitebook 850 G4

I found a used Elitebook 850 G4 notebook that is sold at a discounted price because the bios is locked by an unknown password. If I buy it do you think that hp support can send me the SMC Command to unlock the bios if I show I have buyed it as used?

Do yourself a favor and do not purchase any HP notebook with a BIOS password.

 

Please read the rules of participation...4. d.

 

Rules Page - HP Support Community

 

1. We are forbidden on this forum to help anyone remove a BIOS password from their notebook.

 

2. On HP business class notebooks like the 850 G4, HP will no longer provide the SMC.bin file required to remove the password.

 

Here is HP's official position on this matter...
