I'm not sure about my laptop going under any changes but im convinced its a virus or malware from a bad link or possibly one of the online games downloaded didnt have the right protection but i dont understand how either would do this specifically.
The laptop is windows 10 but this may have happened outside of the update or after it. This laptop has been around for years, it was frequently used for entertaiment and schooling between my many siblings. Well until this happened. Its been sitting in a box collecting dust for a few months; i recently decided i want to apply for online college, but i obviously need to fix this issue before i can do it because i cant afford a new desktop or laptop.
I followed your instructions, and yes the problem persists even in the BIOS
Im not sure how to do the external monitor thing but im sure it works.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Pavilion 17-e112dx Notebook. I read that there are some issues with the laptop. You have checked in BIOS and the issue persists in the BIOS too.
Your HP laptop has an HDMI and a VGA connection. Please refer to this HP document to know how to connect external monitors.
Since the issue persists in the BIOS, the evidence points towards a hardware issue. In such a case, please contact out HP phone support team to check the available warranty options.
Feel free to keep me posted for any further questions. Cheers! 🙂
