HP Laptop - 15t-dw200 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

My laptop wouldn't boot. I tried all options and finally downloaded the Microsoft Media Creation tool 22H2. I was able to boot the PC but was missing all kinds of drivers. I tried downloading from Intel the Realtek High definition audio driver for windows 10 but it is not compatible with the 22H2 build. Neither are any of the drivers for the laptop 15t-dw200 CTO.

I would like to know if there is a driver solution to my problem

Thank you

You're very welcome.

I have zipped up and attached to cloud recovery tool exe file below.

I saved it a long time ago when HP offered it as a separate download.

I recommend that you download Microsoft Edge for Windows on your W8 PC.

Download Microsoft Edge

That may work better, since Internet Explorer has been retired.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to use the latest drivers HP has on your notebook's support page:

HP Laptop - 15t-dw200 CTO Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Try manually installing the drivers from the device in the device manager if the auto install method doesn't work.

Thanks for the rapid reply.

I have tried downloads from this HP site but the windows version from the Microsoft media is 22H2 and HP only shows 20H2.

So I downloaded drivers for windows 10 64-bit but they just hang.

I tried installing from Device Manager by  going to the SWS folder created on the PC but it couldn't find any drivers.

Any other suggestions?

If your notebook came with Windows from HP, it should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook;

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the recovery tool software from the Microsoft Store.

Hi again and thanks for the tip however I went to Microsoft Cloud Recovery and put the product ID in and this is what came back.

The HP Cloud Recovery Download Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. The recovery software works for HP PCs running Windows 10 Professional (64-bit) and Windows 7 Professional (64-bit).

I am running Windows 10 Home.

Here is the list they say can use Cloud Recovery

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/caps-softpaq/CloudRecovery/crsupportedplatform.html

So I am not getting anywhere. I would be willing to purchase the original install DVD but I can't find where to purchase.

Do you have that information? If that is all I can do?

You're very welcome.

You're not following the instructions I gave you.

You posted a link to HP business class PC's which use an entirely different recovery version called the HP cloud recovery client.

The HP consumer notebooks use the HP cloud recovery tool and in order to see if your PC is supported, you need to enter the full product number of your notebook at the link below to see if it is supported>

You need to enter the entire product number including the 3 characters that appear to the right of the # sign.

Hello again and thank you for your patience.

My product id was accepted and I followed the link to Microsoft Store but it hangs. The store doesn't open. I tried to open in another browser but it just shows a green screen with a with a package and a circle that turns.

Another obstacle but I am not giving up. I see I am not the only person who can't open Microsoft store.

Unfortunately I am using Win 8 for the internet. Can that have an impact?

Regards

You are too kind but I am afraid there are too many issues with Windows 8.1.

Your zip I had already downloaded and launched but it arrives at Microsoft Store and hangs.

I will try using a windows 10 computer and keep you posted.

Thanks again
