I'm trying to repair a laptop for an employee. The HDD went and grenaded itself so I put in a new HDD, partitioned and formatted it. I'm trying to get Windows 10 installed on it through a boot USB but it requires a rapid storage driver and its not accepting any of the drivers listed on HP's driver downloads for this laptop. I'm pretty sure its an 8th gen chipset.

Windows shouldn't need the Intel storage controller drivers for PC's with the Intel 8th gen core processors.
You only need those for the PC's with Intel 11th gen > 13th gen core processors.
You may want to try using the Microsoft media creation tool to create the bootable W10 installation flash drive if you have not done so already.
FWIW, I have zipped up and attached the Intel storage controller drivers for the 8th gen platforms below.
The version I attached is 17.11.3.1010 dated 11/25/2022
Boot from the installation media and when you get to the screen where no drives can be found, install the Intel storage controller drivers that I zipped up and attached below so W10 can find the drive.
Unzip and copy all of the files in the folder in the attachment to a USB flash drive.
At the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.
If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.
If Windows still can't find the drive, uncheck the box to include the compatible driver and try any of the ones listed.
Click Next, and Windows should install.

None of the drivers worked, problem turned out to be an issue with the Boot USB image. New Boot USB fixed the issue, so apparently something was corrupted. All good now.
