Product: elitebook 850 g8
Operating System: Linux
I'm trying to update the BIOS on my elitebook 850 g8
I'm using linux so I went with the "update from local media" path
downloaded SP145083.exe
after the install, created the recovery USB, this placed firmware.bin into HP/DEVFW on the usb drive
but the update fails with "The system could not find one the BIOS Update binary files." message...
tried with FAT32/FAT partition on USB.. with GTP and MBR too, also tried copying the files to /boot/efi/EFI/HP/DEVFW, but all resulted in the same message.
any idea what I could be doing wrong?
