cannot use dual channel ram on my laptop i upgraded my ram to 16 gb and i down know how to use dual channel mode for my laptop my model is HP laptop PC 15-dy2000

If you installed memory in matching capacities in each memory slot (2 x 4 GB, 2 x 8 GB), the memory is automatically running in dual channel mode.

If your notebook only has one memory slot, then the memory runs in single channel mode.

Single rank and dual rank are the type of memory layouts, not single channel or dual channel.
