I recently purchased a new computer second hand and upon taking it home and using it for what I would estimate 20 mins or so I had a white screen pop up (picture included) warning me to return said computer. Well I was determined to not give in to the demands of this program (because I don't negotiate with terrorists) and replaced the HDD with a different one I had lying around. After formatting my new HDD and installing a fresh copy of WIN 10 Pro on it and turning on the computer my smug attitude was checked when after showing the windows banner this very aggressive white screen returned before the windows login screen. Back to the drawing board. Now I started doing some digging and some forums said that it could be installed into the Bios. I installed the newest driver update and when I installed it nothing had changed. Still determined not to give into the demands of this cyber terrorist known as K12 I went online and purchased a new motherboard and installed it. I was absolutely certain that this was going to solve this issue and upon booting the menu this same menu popped back up but there was a catch this time. Now it no longer showed a serial number where it showed the old one from the previous board. Im at a loss how that this program in initiating and securing this notebook. Once this screen pops up it prevents you from doing anything other than shutting it off, However if you let it sit for I would assume 10-20 mins it will close the screen and allow you normal operation until the next time it makes its terroristic demands, Does anyone have any ideas how I can go about removing this highly invasive software without me physically calling the company and asking them to remove it myself? Any ideas as to how its even detecting my computer with a new motherboard and a new HDD? My last thought was that maybe the MAC address from the wireless card was registered to their servers and identifying it whenever it connected to the internet then their software was locking the computer down.
