Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi, i had to replace the battery as the laptop wouldnt load and diagnostics showed an error code. Ive replaced it now and also added some extra ram (same spec) and diagnostics tests are good for everything.....however windows will not load the screen sticks on the HP logo and 'preparing automatic repeair'  the F11 isnt loading the blue windows page at all it just hangs on the 'wait'

Ive tried a hard reset, reseating the ram I put in.

Ive downloaded a new window 10 install from their website and set it up to boot from this USB but it is doing nothing other than hanging on the HP logo and the clock timer. Ive tried legacy, UEFI, checked the date and time in BIOS.

Help !!

My intentions were to clone the hard drive in it as I have also bought an SDD (whilst I have the back off) - if I end up with a clean install anyway can I just swap them over now ?

many thanks in advance .

Hi,

It could be a problem with the drive, So, yes i would insert the SSD and try performing a clean install.

You're welcome.

Glad you got it sorted, You can always get a USB to SATA cable and try to recover data from old drive.

Take care,
