HP Laptop 15da.
Laptop battery wasn't keeping its charge anymore, and I was having trouble booting up even from a fully charged battery, so assumed the battery needed replacing. Since replacing it, I've had 'CMOS checksum invalid' errors whenever I power it up, if it's not been connected to the power supply. When it's unplugged, it won't boot at all - despite the battery being fully charged (once it's up and running, it lasts 3-4 hours no problem - so I know it's not the battery!)
I've updated the BIOS to the latest available BIOS from HP - which seemed at first to have resolved the issue, but as soon as the laptop has been (a) shut down / asleep and (b) off mains power for more than a minute or two, when I try to power up, I get the same old Error 502. I've tried manually resetting the system time and date (using F10 while booting) but that hasn't resolved the issue either.
When the laptop is continuously plugged in, I don't tend to have a problem powering it up.
(Before anyone suggests changing the CMOS battery, this model apparently doesn't have one. I've been on that wild goose chase.)
Can anyone help? I've trawled Google but haven't made any headway. Many, many thanks in advance!!
