Microsoft Windows 11

Hopefully I've chosen the correct board to post this on.  Since I don't know what the problem is.....

Machine is less than a week old and the beeping is driving me crazy.  I did reinstall Microsoft Visual C__ 2015 Redistributable X64 as I saw that could be the cause but no luck on that front.

Really appreciate assistance.

@Susie022

I'm sorry, but we are not HP Tech Support, so we have no way to access or diagnose your PC from here.

You should NOT be having to reinstall any Windows system components on a new PC.  IF those components suddenly fail, that is a strong indication of a failing drive.

This is bad news for a new PC -- as it will just keep getting worse and worse over time.

Your best bet is to contact where you bought it, explain the problems, and see about getting a replacement or a refund (I would recommend the second).  Sorry, but we are unable to assist you in this process.

Thank you to WAWood.

It seems it's my external monitor.  When I disconnect it, the beeping stops.

The monitor is a Dell from 2010 but in perfect working order and was fine on my previous PC which worked on W10.  Do you think it might be the driver for the monitor?  If so, do you know who is responsible for updating drivers?

Dell don't want to know, even though it's outrageous that we consign a perfectly adequate piece of  hardware to the recycling bin, adding to the world's pollution.  For what seems to be a little coding adjustment.
