HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-cx0058wm

 

my son was needing this for college so he got it for a Christmas present. took to school this spring and was unable to use it at all.  I tried to register thinking maybe that was it, but no. it says that

1.) Boot Device not found

2.) Please install an operating system on your hard drive

 

When testing through diagnostics, smart check:  Passed but Long DST failed.

 

please advise

Hi:

 

The long DST failure means that the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

 

If the notebook is still under warranty, contact HP customer service at 1 (866) 724-8600, and submit a support case under the warranty to get the notebook repaired.
