Hi @KY354354,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
It sounds like you might have initiated a factory reset or a system recovery process on your HP Stream laptop, which could have resulted in the current startup issue. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve this problem:
Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the laptop completely if it's not already off.
- Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
- Unplug the power adapter.
- Remove the battery (if it's removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
- Try turning on the laptop.
Step 2: Boot into Recovery Mode
- Turn on the laptop and immediately start pressing the F11 key repeatedly.
- This should take you to the HP Recovery Manager.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to attempt a system recovery or reset.
Step 3: Use a Windows Recovery USB
If you have a Windows 10 or 11 recovery USB, you can use it to repair or reinstall the operating system.
- Insert the recovery USB into a USB port.
- Turn on the laptop and immediately start pressing the F9 key to open the Boot Device Options menu.
- Select the USB drive from the list and press Enter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to repair or reinstall Windows.
Performing a factory reset or system recovery can result in data loss. If you have important data on the laptop.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
