Hello friends,

I've just bought my HP 15-DY1005NL

The cooling fan i s always on! and it is very noisy!

How can I stop it just for a while? I chave all the paramenters of power saving but nothing.

Any suggestion?

Many thanks

Hi, Luca:

There isn't anything that I know of that you can do when on battery power, but when you plug the notebook in, the fan always runs.

That is a default setting in the BIOS, which you can change by going into the BIOS, and disable the 'Fan always on when on A/C power' setting.

Hi Paul,

thanks

Core temp is around 50degrees. I dont need to stop the fan, just slow it down so it is not so noisy.

Anything I can do to fix it?

thanks again

Luca

You're very welcome, Luca.

Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for you to try.

The BIOS setting does not completely stop the fan at all times.

It still comes on when necessary, but it is not on all the time when on A/C power.

Hi Luca, did you solve your issues with cooling fan always on? I have the same notebook and it's really annoying problem.

Thank you

Hi Giacomo,

at the beginning it was so annoying, but now the situation is acceptable. I did nothing to solve the problem. I simply think that, after the first start, the CPU works hardly to optimize the software packages. Now it is quite better. For sure it happens again in case of intensive use of the CPU.

thanks

Luca
